Vol. 30 - The King of Pop according to flip

The King of Pop is dead and I weep for music's loss. The second concert I ever saw was the Jackson Victory tour in Kansas City (the first was Daryl Hall and John Oats?...). It was 1984, I was 8 years old and I rocked it. So much, in fact, that my mom bought me a black, sleeveless concert t-shirt with a single, white-sequenced glove and two white socks floating over randomly illuminated glowing squares, as if in the position of grabbing the crotch of the invisible person they were attached to and screaming "WHOOO!". This early exposure to such a musical spectacle may be the reason I'm sitting here posting these silly mixes today. If so, thanks MJ.

PS. If you want to appreciate MJ's talent, listen to the Billy Jean demo on disk 2. He doesn't know the all lyrics yet but he knows the rhythm and you can hear him harmonizing and sounding it all out. Awesome.

Vol. 29 - Summer Vibrations

Every summer needs a little reggae in it so here you go. This is an attempt to expose you to a few reggae artists other than Bob Marley (don't worry, he's on here too) plus a few who are not "reggae artists" but are either influenced by the genre or just took a shot at a reggae song and fucking nailed it. Yah mon.

By the way...did you know there is a dance that works to every reggae song ever made regardless of tempo? Ask flip to show it to you sometime...
