The King of Pop is dead and I weep for music's loss. The second concert I ever saw was the Jackson Victory tour in Kansas City (the first was Daryl Hall and John Oats?...). It was 1984, I was 8 years old and I rocked it. So much, in fact, that my mom bought me a black, sleeveless concert t-shirt with a single, white-sequenced glove and two white socks floating over randomly illuminated glowing squares, as if in the position of grabbing the crotch of the invisible person they were attached to and screaming "WHOOO!". This early exposure to such a musical spectacle may be the reason I'm sitting here posting these silly mixes today. If so, thanks MJ.
PS. If you want to appreciate MJ's talent, listen to the Billy Jean demo on disk 2. He doesn't know the all lyrics yet but he knows the rhythm and you can hear him harmonizing and sounding it all out. Awesome.
